^ The indicative annual tuition fee is based on a full-time student enrolment load of 48 credit points per year, or 1.0 Equivalent Full-Time Student Load (1.0 EFTSL). Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may increase each year. Tuition fees are calculated on a student’s exact enrolment. UNSW students enrolled in most courses have some flexibility in the subjects they choose. At times these subjects will be from outside their own faculty. For example, a Commerce student may choose elective subjects from a range of other faculties; a student in a combined Law degree with Engineering or Science will choose subjects from Science and Engineering and subjects from Law. These choices may result in a higher or lower total fee for the year.

If you are interested in materials engineering but also looking to enhance your skills in technical management and understand the economic and social aspects of engineering, then this double degree is ideal for you.
The Materials Science and Engineering component equips you with the theoretical and practical skills that positions you at the forefront of innovation in developing materials that are lighter, greener, and stronger. On the other hand, the Commerce component provides you with a solid foundation in general business principles while offering the flexibility to specialise in a specific area of business. With more than ten majors to choose from, ranging from accounting to innovation, strategy, and entrepreneurship, you have the opportunity to tailor your business degree to align with your interests and career goals.
On completion of this five-and-a-half-year program, you will earn two separate degrees: a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Materials Science and Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce.
