About
Actuaries specialise in applying mathematical, statistical and financial analysis to business, finance and insurance. Actuaries advise government, financial institutions and other organisations on financial management, risk management, product design and complex transactions. They are key to helping financial institutions and other businesses all over the world to prosper.
In the professionally accredited Bachelor of Actuarial Studies, you’ll learn how to apply mathematical, statistical, economic and financial analysis to a range of practical problems in long-term risk management, finance and insurance.

If you complete this degree as part of one of our double degrees with the 300202 Bachelor of Applied Finance, the 300540 Bachelor of Information Technology (Data Science major) or the 300555 Bachelor of Science with grades of credit or above in the relevant units, you’re eligible to apply for exemption from the Foundation Program and the Actuary Program examinations of the Actuaries Institute.

Applicants with recent secondary education
Assumed knowledge: Mathematics Extension 1.
Recommended studies: Mathematics Extension 2 (Band E4). For International Baccalaureate (IB) applicants, this is equivalent to a grades 6 or 7 in Further Mathematics (HL) or Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL.
