The Bachelor of Music – with its focus on synergies across production and performance, including theoretical and practical study – is the only one of its kind in Australia. It will develop your theoretical, practical and industry-focused skills, as well as your musical training.

Applicants with recent secondary education

Guaranteed selection rank: 75.00

Offers of admission will be made based either on selection rank or satisfactory performance in an assessment. The assessment involves a 30-minute audition, which includes musical playback/performance, a short written component and an interview. Applicants who don’t expect to obtain the required selection rank are encouraged to complete an application for audition on the Macquarie University website by the specified deadline.

Other applicants

Post-school and TAFE applicants will be admitted based on one or more of the following:

  • ATAR or equivalent and/or previous formal education
  • relevant professional experience
  • completion of a 30-minute audition, which includes musical playback/performance, a short written component and an interview.
