^ The annual tuition fees stated in this table are published for guidance only and are based on the normal annual (two semester) full- time enrolment of courses entirely in the discipline area of the degree (ie only Science courses for a BSc or only Arts courses for a BA). With the Bachelor of Asian Studies you will master an Asian language, acquire in-depth contextual and regional knowledge, and graduate with the kind of Asian literacy that gets you noticed by employers. And, if you love adventure, we offer you a variety of study opportunities in the region so you can experience Asia first hand.

Asian Studies students must study a language as part of their degree. No prior knowledge of an Asian language or of the region is required. If you have prior experience in the language you are studying you must take a placement assessment and may be exempt from introductory language subjects.

Fees and charges

The Australian Government pays part of the tuition fee for this course. The remaining balance is paid by the student. Information about ANU student contributions.

Essential requirements for admission

Co-curricular or service experience (Year 12 or IB applicants only): Applicants must demonstrate at least two of the following seven skills: community engagement, inclusion and awareness of diversity, communication, leadership, personal responsibility, teamwork, creative and critical thinking. Check if you meet the ANU co-curricular or service requirement.

Admission criteria

Minimum selection rank: 80.00. Due to the competitive nature of our admissions process, we cannot guarantee entry to applicants who meet the minimum selection rank for their preferred program.
