Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Advanced Studies

This flexible degree allows you to explore different study areas as your abilities, interests or career opportunities change. Alternatively, you can nominate particular areas of study in the first year to provide a direction for study throughout the degree. Specialist programs and majors allow you to graduate with expertise in a particular field or fields.

You will specialise in a Science program or major, studying one or two subject areas per semester across the degree.  All students complete some units in mathematics. You will also complete a second major and take short courses from the Open Learning Environment in science or in areas such as design thinking, persuasive communication, project management, team leadership and entrepreneurial thinking.

You will have the opportunity to undertake academically challenging coursework and complete an industry and community project.

Industry experience: You will have the opportunity to gain industry experience through interdisciplinary project units with industry, community or research projects.

Students enrolled in any course requiring exposure to animals and wildlife, farm visits, animal handling enterprises, or the handling of animal specimens must be protected against Q Fever infection and Tetanus. Professional recognition

Note: the Psychological Science major is not a pathway to professional accreditation as a psychologist.

Fees and charges

The Australian Government subsidises the tuition fee for this course. The remaining balance is paid by the student. Current University of Sydney fee information.
