Studying a double degree with a Bachelor of Criminology and Bachelor of Laws from UOW equips you with a diverse range of skills in the law and justice sphere. The Bachelor of Laws equips you with a comprehensive legal education. This world-class degree provides you with a thorough grounding in the law, the social and ethical context in which law operates, while equipping you with essential practical skills including an internship and integrated skills program.
During the Bachelor of Criminology, you will learn causes and responses to crime, innovative ways to approach crime issues, how to research and advocate for crime solutions, and give you the opportunity to learn about specialist areas like youth crime and justice and gender-based violence.

Professional recognition
Eligible for admission as a lawyer in Australia, subject to completing state-approved Practical Legal Training (PLT). Further details for NSW students can be found at the Legal Profession Admissions Board Website.
The UOW Bachelor of Laws is accredited by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. Students from India and Bangladesh are encouraged to apply. Graduates can be accredited to practice as a barrister or solicitor upon returning home, subject to the completion of any required bridging course.
Practical experience
All Bachelor of Laws students complete a compulsory 20-day internship to build their professional experience.
Honours
Bachelor of Laws: Awarded on the basis of excellent performance throughout the course, as well as in a Legal Research Methodology subject and a Legal Research Thesis. Bachelor of Laws (Honours by Research) is available as an additional year of study to meritorious students.
