About

Students gain a comprehensive understanding of modern, responsible business practices and the crucial role of technology in supporting efficient business operations. They also develop the technical skills to design and implement infrastructure and systems.

This interdisciplinary course produces industry-ready professional engineers with the skills, capabilities and attributes needed to analyse and create solutions for complex engineering systems. A Mechanical Engineering specialisation develops their expertise in a field of practice.

Core business units develop knowledge in sustainability, marketing, accounting, finance, artificial intelligence, business analytics, and professional development. These learnings are underpinned by professional work experience in a relevant business organisation.

This double degree is also available online. Attendance at on-campus workshops is a requirement for all students.

Mechanical engineers are in demand in government departments, building services, manufacturing centres, power plants, consulting engineering companies, shipbuilding, railroads, control and automation industries, and robotics industries.

Fully accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer.

Practical experience

A compulsory 60-day Engineering placement is a component of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical Engineering).
