Macleay offers one of the only higher education credentials available in social media marketing. With an accelerated course structure designed to take you from beginner to expert, this specialised 8-unit diploma will give you a competitive edge — and it only takes seven months to complete this digital marketing course.

There is no articulation pathway into the Diploma of Digital and Social Media Marketing via formal transfer agreement. However, students who successfully complete the core units drawn from the following currently accredited courses of study may receive credit via advanced standing:

  • Bachelor of Advertising and Media – 8 units
  • Bachelor of Digital Media – 8 units.

All units are equally weighted at 6 credit points and are comparable in learning outcomes, volume of learning, content, and assessment.

Admission criteria

Applicants with recent secondary education

Year 12 qualification: While an ATAR is not required, applicants must complete the final year of high school.

Applicants with higher education study

Tertiary qualification: A relevant tertiary qualification obtained in the last five years.
Optional personal statement: Applicants without the above qualifications can submit a 300- to 500-word statement outlining your work and life experience and your achievements, experience, knowledge and communication skills.

Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study

Certificate IV or higher: Obtained in the last two years.
Optional personal statement: Applicants without the above qualifications can submit a 300- to 500-word statement outlining your work and life experience and your achievements, experience, knowledge and communication skills.

Applicants with work and life experience

Personal statement: Submit a 300- to 500-word statement outlining your work and life experience and your achievements, experience, knowledge and communication skills.

Recommended studies: Visual Arts, Design and Technology, Business Studies, any 2 units of English.
