If you want to become an architect, this double degree is a complete pathway to meeting your academic and professional requirements. You'll build upon your foundational skills and knowledge to learn advanced design skills, grounded in creative problem-solving and sustainable design practices.
In your fourth year, you will need to successfully complete the Bachelor of Architectural Design to progress to the Master of Architecture.
Note: This program is offered full-time on-campus only at the Gold Coast campus. The program includes some Trimester 3 core courses which may be offered in intensive mode. Work-integrated learning activities integrate theoretical learning with its application in the workplace. The inclusion of work-integrated learning activities in this degree program demonstrates Griffith's commitment to preparing its graduates for success in their working life.
Architecture, built environment and design.
You’ll be prepared to work as an architect in private practice, consulting firms and in local and state government. You may want to specialise your skills in a specific building type, building design or construction procurement with further research or study in urban design.
Professional recognition for the Bachelor of Architectural Design/Master of Architecture will be sought by the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia, the Board of Architects of Queensland, the Australian Institute of Architects and the Commonwealth Association of Architects.
Assumed knowledge: Any two units of English (Band 3).
Recommended studies: Mathematics Standard 2 (Band 3) or Mathematics Advanced (Band 3).
