In this highly-recognised degree, you will be equipped with the skills needed for lifelong learning in the evolving aviation environment. This degree is the first step to gaining your commercial pilot licence and has strong ties to major airlines across Australia. You will be introduced to the skills underpinning the theory and practice of flight training and study courses in areas such as human factors, aerodynamics, aviation law, atmospheric science, navigation and flight planning.
You will graduate as a well-rounded aviation professional with one of Australia’s most highly regarded aerospace qualifications. As a graduate of this degree, you ‘ll be able to apply for entry into the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management at Griffith, to get the skills and qualifications needed to work as a commercial pilot. Study a double degree with Engineering or IT to further broaden your career pathways.
Note: Students study over three trimesters each year, completing the three year program in two years.
Aviation.
Charter work, regional airlines, flight instruction (theory and practice), aerial services (agricultural spraying, aerial surveying and photography), and in government organisations such as Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
Assumed knowledge: Any two units of English (Band 3) plus Mathematics Standard 2 (Band 3) or Mathematics Advanced (Band 3).
Recommended studies: Biology or Physics.
