About

The Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) (PhB) allows intellectually ambitious students to explore their interests and develop their research skills. The four-year PhB course is designed with flexibility in mind – each PhB course is as individual as the student taking it. Students will tailor a stimulating and challenging course with an academic mentor. In the honours year, students undertake a research project under the guidance of an academic supervisor.

Joint degrees: Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) – Science is also offered as a joint course with the National University of Singapore (NUS). Students spend five semesters at ANU, including their fourth year, and three semesters at NUS.

Supplementary form/referee reports: Suitability is determined by the submission and assessment of the B Philosophy supplementary form and two referee reports. Submission of this form and the reports is compulsory for all applicants. This additional information should be submitted directly to the university by the deadlines listed on the ANU’s supplementary application form and referee report form webpage.

Prerequisites

Subject prerequisites: Some Science subjects require specific knowledge of mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. Access specific subject prerequisites.

Minimum selection rank: 99.00. Due to the competitive nature of our admissions process, we cannot guarantee entry to applicants who meet the minimum selection rank for their preferred program.
