The Bachelor of Computer Science /Master of Data Science is a new course commencing in 2026. Computer science drives innovation across industries, solving complex challenges and improving lives. From AI-powered automation to advancements in healthcare and education, it shapes the future. Data science, built on computer science, mathematics, and statistics, empowers organisations to make data-driven decisions—critical for tackling global issues like climate change and sustainable resource management. 

This double degree is designed to equip you with technical expertise and a strong ethical foundation. In an era of rapid technological change, graduates won’t only develop cutting-edge solutions but also critically assess their broader impact. Aligned with ACU’s mission, this program empowers students to become responsible innovators—driving progress while ensuring technology serves the greater good. Plus, this degree provides both a bachelor’s and master’s qualification in four years full-time instead of five.

Professional recognition

Practical experience

As part of this degree, you’ll undertake a community engagement experience relevant to computer science. This is a transformational learning opportunity that engages you with communities experiencing disadvantage or marginalisation, for example by working with social enterprises or a not-for-profit organisation. It will allow you to explore your ethics and empathy, gain new perspectives, and apply digital literacies, communication skills, technical skills and judgement that contribute to both your personal and professional development.
