The Graduate Certificate in Public Health enables graduates to confidently work with communities to contribute to effective and sustainable public health practices, both nationally and internationally. This course provides a basic introduction to key public health concepts and issues, including social determinants of public health, statistical analysis, and epidemiology (the study of patterns of health and illnesses). You'll gain an insight into the challenges involved in system-level change to improve the health of our vulnerable communities, and the range of career opportunities available in public health.
An Australian bachelor degree, or recognised equivalent, from any discipline.
Applicants with other relevant professional qualifications (eg registered nurses) and at least two years' relevant work experience should contact UOW to discuss their options.
This course will be offered as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To be eligible for this fee subsidy, you must meet the following criteria: Be a domestic student, i.e. an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder.
