About

The Graduate Certificate in Engineering is designed to train and enhance professional practice, advance technical and specialist skills, and provide an opportunity to put theory into practice with applied projects. The Graduate Certificate in Engineering offers a choice of four areas of focus in electrical, civil, mining and/or environmental engineering, and provides a foundation for the more intensive theoretical and practical work of the Graduate Diploma.

This degree also provides a pathway to the UOW Master of Engineering, which is professionally accredited by Engineers Australia. You will study Engineering Research Methods and three technical subjects in Electrical, Computer, Telecommunications, Civil, Mining, Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering.

Admission criteria

Either:

  • a recognised three-year Bachelor of Engineering degree with an equivalent average mark of 60%; or
  • a four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree with an equivalent average mark of 50%.

Fees and charges

This course will be offered as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To be eligible for this fee subsidy, you must meet the following criteria: Be a domestic student, i.e. an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder.
