About

With the world population rapidly growing, the need for products and technologies that can produce sustainable food sources, create cleaner fuels, reduce our environmental footprint and combat disease also grows. Biotechnology which has been employed for thousands of years in agriculture, food production and medicine utilises cellular and biomolecular processes to develop such products and technologies.

The Graduate Diploma of Biotechnology, which takes a multidisciplinary approach to biotechnology practice and research, will provide you with the knowledge and skills to begin or advance your career in the field of biotechnology. You’ll develop capabilities in areas such as functional proteomics, molecular genomics, biochemistry and cell biology, microbiology and molecular biology, genetics and macromolecules.

Admission criteria

  • An Australian level 7 bachelor qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent including final year studies in biochemistry or molecular biology, and
  • Three years (full-time equivalent) of relevant work experience.
