In this double degree, you will be able to combine:
Master of Counter Terrorism: You'll learn about the theory and practice of counter terrorism studies; the emerging domestic, regional and international challenges related to terrorism and their implications for counter terrorism approaches and policies; and the evolution of Australia's counter terrorism strategies and policies. It will also equip you with a practical skill set.
Master of International Relations: The Master of International Relations, which is built around innovative approaches and thinking, will empower you to comprehend and evaluate contemporary regional and global developments, and will equip you for an international career in diplomacy, journalism, the NGO sector, international business or academia.
Admission criteria
Master of Counter Terrorism
- AQF level 8 bachelor honours or graduate diploma qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent ; or
Meet two of the following three criteria:
- AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent
- Minimum two years relevant approved work experience at senior management level, professional certification or other recognised prior learning
- AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 65
- AQF level 8 bachelor honours or graduate diploma qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent; or
- AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent
- Approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning
- AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 65

Political science and policy studies, philosophy and religious studies, studies in human society, social work, welfare studies, behavioural science, law, linguistics, literature, language and literature, philosophy and religious studies, economics, criminology, society and culture, communication and media studies, international business anthropology, international relations, history, security studies.
Relevant experience
In international relations: related employment or volunteer work including advisory, advocacy, consultancy, representation, analysis, research, management in public service, community, government relations, political and social, international or professional bodies, organisations, institutes or associations.
In counter terrorism: Police Force, Defence Force, public service, law, policy advising, defence and security-related industry and business, media, international policy think tanks.
