About

This program is designed to help individual professionals and their organisations understand and apply contemporary Australian and international approaches to effective regulation and governance. Thematic issues covered include regulatory complexity, risk assessment, responsiveness, compliance, technology and regulation, and managing stakeholders. It is designed for people who manage regulatory portfolios and projects in government, business or NGO settings – or who will do so in future. Adopting an applied approach, the program uses case studies, hands-on assessments and examples of regulatory excellence from Australia, Europe, North America and Asia and the Pacific.

Admission criteria

Unless otherwise indicated, ANU will accept all Australian Qualifications Framework qualifications or international equivalents that meet or exceed the published admission requirements of our programs, provided all other admission requirements are also met. Where an applicant has more than one completed tertiary qualification, ANU will base assessment on the qualification that best meets the admission requirements for the program.

Applicants without bachelor degree minimum GPA

Applicants who do not have a bachelor degree or international equivalent with the required GPA may enter the program with evidence of at least one of the following:

  • minimum of 5 years of work experience in a role that has responsibility for organisation-level or public, private or NGO sector-wide regulatory system design and/or monitoring and compliance and/or enforcement
  • minimum of 10 years of work experience in one or more roles at ANZSCO Skill Level 1. These roles need not relate directly to regulation and/or governance. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).

Applicants must provide an employer statement of service and a CV detailing relevant work experience. Upload your statement of service and CV as PDFs within the UAC application.

Contact the College if you have any queries regarding the application requirements.

GPA calculation

ANU uses a 7-point grade point average (GPA) scale. All qualifications submitted for admission at ANU will be converted to this common scale, which will determine if an applicant meets our published admission requirements. Find out how a 7-point GPA is calculated for Australian universities.

Unless otherwise indicated, where an applicant has more than one completed tertiary qualification, ANU will calculate the GPA for each qualification separately. ANU will base assessment on the best GPA of all completed tertiary qualifications that are eligible to be considered.
