University applications are strong

21 Nov 2018

AT the halfway point of the admissions period for tertiary study in 2019, the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) has received 63,170 applications for undergraduate study.

Since early bird closing on Friday 28 September, an additional 4,027 people have applied for undergraduate study through UAC, with gains in applicant numbers evident across all applicant categories. Significantly, the past month saw a 21.1 per cent rise in non-Year 12 applications.

Non-Year 12 applicants are those who have left school before 2018. Entry to university for post-school applicants is based on their results for Year 12 studies, the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), post-secondary courses commenced or completed, or employment experience.
