Australian Catholic University

ACU Guarantee

The ACU Guarantee program will be running for a third year. ACU Guarantee is an early offer program designed to help Year 12 students secure a place at ACU before they sit their final exams. Applications are free and students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applications open on Monday 18 July and close on 23 September 2022.

Four new commerce degrees for 2023

Future employers will know exactly what students are qualified for with ACU’s four new commerce degrees:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Data Analytics)
  • Bachelor of Commerce (HRM and Management)
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing).

They have retained all the important features of the Bachelor of Commerce with:

  • multidisciplinary foundation units before students move onto their chosen specialisation
  • Microsoft certifications embedded into each degree
  • Future Ready – the structured three-year program and roadmap to success, co-designed and recognised by industry
  • embedded global virtual classrooms, giving students the opportunity to experience international study without the need to travel, plus the option to study abroad with two business units offered at the Rome campus during the July holiday break
  • two industry placements – one in second year to develop their transferable employability skills and one in third year focusing on their chosen profession
  • major professional accreditations
  • the flexibility to change course between programs if the student’s interests change.

New double degree in criminology and law

Students can supercharge their criminology and criminal justice degree with law and be ready to launch a meaningful legal career in the criminal justice sector. This double degree is the ideal combination for students who want to be a criminal lawyer or pursue regulatory or policy work in criminal justice areas covering interpersonal violence, policing, forensic psychology, corrections and cybercrime.

Paramedicine

ACU launched a Bachelor of Paramedicine at the North Sydney campus in 2015 with 25 students. Due to a limited number of placement opportunities available in NSW for undergraduate paramedic students, we have not been able to secure sufficient placements for the course to grow and remain viable. Accordingly, ACU will discontinue the Bachelor of Paramedicine at its North Sydney campus from 2023. The final intake will be in 2022. Learn more about studying paramedicine at ACU

Western Civilisation Ramsay scholarship

Eligibility criteria for the Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation) scholarship has changed. Students who have completed Year 12 in the past three years are now also eligible to apply.

Archaeology major in the Bachelor of Arts

Dedicated to the archaeology, history and languages of Ancient Israel, this exciting archaeology major commencing this year will be delivered online and on campus. Students will have the opportunity to participate in an archaeological dig in Israel as part of their studies. Learn more about studying archaeology at ACU

Midwifery

The Bachelor of Midwifery course will now be offered from 2023 at ACU's Blacktown campus pending accreditation.

Youth Work

Offered at the Blacktown Campus, the ACU Bachelor of Youth Work explores the complex issues many young people face, including homelessness, mental health, poverty and resettlement in a new country.

Youth work acknowledges the social and cultural environments where young people live. This course encourages critical thinking about those environments and helps to foster emotional and social development. Hear from an ACU youth work graduate

Macquarie University

The Macquarie Leaders and Achievers Early Entry Scheme will reward students’ academic achievements, leadership qualities and commitment to community with an early offer to their dream degree at Macquarie in 2023.

Become a Co-op student

Be financially supported to develop professional skills and network for the future. Co-op students alternate between classroom studies with practical workplace experience, while receiving financial support from partner organisations. Macquarie University offers three Co-op programs:

Young Achievers Early Offer Information Session

Students interested in securing a place at Notre Dame before they sit their final exams can visit the vibrant Broadway campus for a Young Achievers Early Offer Information Session.

They can find out everything they need to know about the program, including selection criteria, the application process, important dates and benefits.

They’ll also hear from current students about how receiving an early offer helped them finish Year 12 with added confidence, and have the opportunity to chat 1:1 with academics about their undergraduate study options for 2023.

University of Sydney

Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Doctor of Veterinary Medicine admission requirement

All applicants for the Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sydney are required to complete Altus Suite for the 2022-23 admissions cycle.

Altus Suite is a standardised, multi-part online assessment that measures different competencies and attributes important for successful students and graduates of the university's programs. Applicants will be asked to complete the Casper assessment in Altus Suite, which is a 100–120 minute online, open-response situational judgment test. This will complement the other tools that the University of Sydney uses for applicant review and evaluation, and further enhance fairness and objectivity in the selection process.

Students looking for additional pathways can view the University of Sydney Admission Pathways page to see all the current options. The E12 scheme, Gadigal program, CASAS program for visual arts and music students, and the Broadway scheme are all open to students who meet the eligibility requirements.

Western Sydney University

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Information Evening

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Future Students Information Evening at Western Sydney University is an opportunity to hear about what programs are on offer, scholarships, services, pathways available and more.

Discover Western webinars are short information sessions for senior students, and the adults who support their academic development. On Thursday 18 August, 6 to 7pm, Western will be hosting a webinar for parents and carers of senior high school students: Your Role and How You Can Help Guide Them To University.

The webinar aims to support parents and carers with relevant information that can help them guide their child in making those big decisions about their future, discover university entry options, careers and courses, as well as pathways the student can use should they not achieve their desired ATAR.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program assessment

Western Sydney University’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program aims to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in undergraduate programs across all areas of study. Prospective students are not required to have completed the HSC or any other degrees to apply to study at Western via the program.

Applications are accepted throughout the year, with three assessment rounds. The second assessment round this year will take place on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 August.
