Be an early bird

23 Aug 2019

If you’re applying for undergraduate study in semester 1, 2020, the early bird deadline is fast approaching – midnight Monday 30 September.

Submit your application before this date and you’ll avoid the higher application processing charge.

If you’re in Year 12, by getting in early you’ll be free to focus on your exams. You don’t have to know exactly what you want to study; just put in a course as a placeholder. After you submit your application you can change your course preferences as many times as you like.

Also bear in mind that many courses, including popular medical and music courses, have early closing dates so check the course descriptions on UAC’s course search so you don’t miss out.

Remember, applications for Schools Recommendation Schemes, an opportunity for you to receive an early offer to uni, also close at midnight on Monday 30 September.

Schools then have until Wednesday 9 October to rate their students. Be aware that this date falls in the school holidays.

The UAC website has more information on applicant processing charges and key dates, and for important admission information delivered straight to your inbox, register for our Directions newsletter below.

If you miss the early bird round, don’t worry – applications for all courses starting in semester 1, 2020 close at midnight on Friday 7 February 2020.
