Working at UAC

Product Designer

12-month fixed-term appointment (reference no. 2193)

What we do

UAC is the largest tertiary admissions centre in Australia and is recognised as the leader in technology platforms within our industry. We build admissions systems and provide bespoke services to universities across NSW and the ACT.

We have exciting national-scale projects underway and are building brand new systems that solve complex problems and drive efficiency improvements for our clients and the sector.

UAC has experienced significant double-digit growth and expansion of market share and capability. We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to contribute to UAC’s success.

About our team

We have a flat team structure and value a collaborative, team-based environment. Our 'round table' approach to product development means your opinions count.

We are constantly learning, adapting and growing. We seek improvement, not approval, and always act upon the feedback loop.

We’re dynamic, we move fast, and we always encourage innovation and creativity.

Our designers are responsible for:

  • ensuring design recommendations are of the highest standard and up to date with the latest trends
  • advocating for the importance of the design process
  • researching, prototyping and user-testing all digital products
  • leading, building and maintaining UAC’s design system, including web and mobile wireframes, UI elements and themes.

We’re currently working from home, given the current circumstances of COVID-19. We have the technology platforms and ethos to ensure we all stay connected!

About you

We'd love you to have:

  • knowledge of, and experience in, designing UX/UI for websites, web applications and/or mobile applications
  • a keen interest in emerging technological trends
  • a creative eye for design and an understanding of design software, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, Axure or similar toolsets
  • the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members.
