Applying through UAC Undergraduate FAQs
Don’t waste your application! If you apply after the Main Round of offers, remember that few offers are made in the Late and Final rounds. Institutions may not make offers in all courses – offers are only made to courses with vacancies.
- Do I apply through UAC Undergraduate or UAC International?
The application process varies for domestic and international applicants:
- What are the admission requirements for university study?
To be offered a place in a course you must:
- be eligible to be considered and
- be selected in competition with other eligible applicants.
Read admission requirements for more information about whether you're eligible.
- When do I need to apply?
On-time applications close on Friday 30 September 2011 – check key dates for application and offer dates. UAC accepts late applications until Thursday 2 February 2012 and late fees apply.
Apply as early as possible as most offers are made in the Main Round of offers on Wednesday 18 January 2012.
Note: Some courses have early closing dates. Check the list of early closing dates and the course descriptions available through the course search.
You can receive updates on important UAC dates and events by liking UAC on Facebook, signing up for our newsletter or subscribing to our RSS feed.
- How do I apply?
You apply to courses listed in the course search through Apply. Apply will instruct you throughout the application.
- How do I pay for my application?
The processing charge is $26 for Year 12 applicants and $56 for non-Year 12 applicants. Late fees apply after Friday 30 September 2011.
The processing charge is not refundable under any circumstances and you must keep a record of the date and time of your payment.
You have a number of options to pay for the processing charge:
- credit/debit card (MasterCard and Visa)
- PayPal – if you choose to use PayPal to pay your processing charge, allow at least 10 days before you apply to set up your account
- BPAY (in Australia only)
- over the counter at Australia Post outlets (in Australia only).
Note: If you don't pay the processing charge your application won't be processed and you won't be made an offer.
- What is my UAC application number and UAC PIN?
- I applied through UAC International but now I'm a permanent resident. Do I need to apply again?
If you're granted permanent residency after you apply through UAC
International, write to the Senior Operations Officer at UAC to explain your change in status and provide a verified copy of your current passport. You don't need to apply again.
