Assumed knowledge: Mathematics.
Major studies: Information architecture, networks and networking, software testing, system analysis and design, web technologies.
Minor studies: Commercial application development, community and home computing, games technology, human computer interaction, statistics, web-based information systems and data mining. By taking a suitable choice of units it will be possible to satisfy the requirements for the award of some industrial certifications.
Industrial experience: Students will be required to undertake a real-life project in their final semester of study, often for a local business or organisation.
Professional recognition: Accreditation at professional level will be sought with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for this course.

Additional information: The degree is a professional three-year course that will provide you with a solid skills and knowledge base in networking and IT applications areas, as well as the ability to apply practical solutions. It will also allow you to develop skills in application development, program design, systems analysis and design, networks, web-design, and the implementation of technology. Electives and majors integrate the core units to tailor your studies according to your interests and career ambitions. Majors in networking, integrated with Cisco academic program are available at the Campbelltown, Parramatta and Penrith campuses. This course is offered in full-time mode. However, students may complete the course at a reduced load.
