Additional selection criteria: B Information Systems: The cut-off for admission in 2012 is expected to be 90.00. Students who anticipate receiving an ATAR or equivalent between 80.00 and 89.95 will be considered for entry into the program under the Business Information Systems Admission Scheme (BISAS). The BISAS will include the ATAR, a review of performance in relevant Year 12 subjects, completion of a questionnaire and a face-to-face interview. B Information Systems (Co-op): The UNSW Co-op Scholarship Program provides professional development, industry training and financial support to selected undergraduate students in the four-year B Information Systems (Co-op) program. Interested students should select 424004 as a preference and also apply directly to UNSW for a Co-op Scholarship.

Major studies: Information systems.
Practical experience: Students accepted into the four-year B Information Systems (Co-op) program will be required to undertake up to 18 months of practical experience in a sponsoring organisation.
Professional recognition: The information systems major has been accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for provisional membership at the Professional Level.
Career opportunities: Examples include business analyst, business developer – IS/IT solutions, business intelligence systems developer, e-commerce specialist, IS development specialist, IS/IT architect or consultant, IT infrastructure developer, network analyst, network developer, project management specialist and systems analyst.
Additional information: Information systems concerns the analysis, design and construction of computer systems for commercial application, and the management of business computing. The information systems/information technology industry is one of the fastest growing in the Australian economy and employers value graduates who demonstrate skills and knowledge in both business and information technology domains and are creative and entrepreneurial.
