Additional information: The Bachelor of Laws (4 year) allows students who do not hold a three year bachelors degree to enrol in a Bachelor of Laws. The course requires the completion of 192 credit points. Core law units and electives comprise 144 credit points of study. Students must complete 18 compulsory units (108 credit points). The compulsory units cover areas of study required for admission as a legal practitioner. Students must select a further 6 units (36 credit points) from a number of law electives. These electives allow students to explore legal areas of particular interest. Students are also required to complete eight non law units (48credit points). These may be taken from a single subject area or from a number of diverse subject areas. This ensures that students will have some perspective, other than through the study of law, in which to place their legal studies. The University of New England offers a flexible approach to the study of law, with the Bachelor of Laws (4 year) providing both on campus and off campus study opportunities.
