Major studies: Animal ecology, animal physiology, entomology, animal behaviour, environmental and comparative physiology, marine ecology, freshwater ecology.

Career opportunities: Zoologists are employed by research institutions, CSIRO, local state and federal government agencies, museums, national parks, marine parks, zoological gardens, Antarctic research stations, and as teachers in primary and secondary school among others. Zoologists are also employed in media organisations (radio, television and print), consultancy firms, aquaculture and biotechnology and animal breeding businesses. A B Zoology can also lead to Honours, Masters and PhD degrees.

Additional information: Zoology is the branch of biology that focuses on the structure, function, behaviour, physiology and evolution of animals. Units can be taken both on-campus (full-time) and off-campus (part-time). Campus units may have an intensive school to deliver practical and hands-on experience.
