Additional information: This degree offers a strong foundation in basic and pharmaceutical sciences core skills that will be integrated with contemporary knowledge and application of pharmaceutics and pharmacy practice. This program of study will enable students to achieve key competency standards in pharmacy practice and will prepare graduates to undertake pre-registration training subject to the degree being accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council. Once a pre-registration year is completed within Australia, and board exams are passed, students can then practise as registered pharmacists in Australia.

The Australian Pharmacy Council has granted preliminary approval for UNE to offer B Pharmacy as a qualification intended to lead to registration as a pharmacist in Australia and New Zealand. Recognition of the Bachelor of Pharmacy as a registrable qualification is subject to the granting of provisional accreditation. UNE is eligible to apply for provisional accreditation in 2011.
