Accounting: The collection, measurement and communication of economic information which is used for planning, reporting and decision-making.

Applied econometrics: The application of quantitative techniques to economics and is used in economics analysis, forecasting, the development and testing of theories and economic models and policy analysis.

Business demographics: Demographic analysis is a powerful tool that can explain a number of social, economic and business phenomena. It includes the study of the size, structure and distribution of populations and how populations change over time due to births, deaths, migration and ageing.

Business information systems: Organisations use IT and web technology to engage customers more effectively, boost employee productivity and improve operating efficiency. This major provides graduates with a solid understanding of information systems concepts and issues, enabling them to fully participate in the increasingly globalised business community and also participate in the community.

Commercial law: The opportunity to study law as it relates to commercial activities both within Australia and overseas. Alerts you to legal issues in commerce, finance and accounting practice as well as providing insights into the impact of the law on individual rights and general business practice.

Decision science: Today’s organisations have access to many detailed sources of data, and complex decision-making strategies are required in order to operate effectively. Decision science provides practical methods for translating data into efficiency improvements. You will learn how to manage resource allocation, supply chains, large projects, queues and inventory systems, how to study and predict markets, how to simulate complex systems computationally, how to transact business safely via the internet, and how to identify and work around uncertainty.

Economics: Economists understand complicated economic and social processes, intervene to make outcomes better, and set policies that have a major effect on society. The major in economics provides an excellent education in the leading theories and concepts involved in modern economics to develop successful business economists.

Finance: Study financial organisations, markets and instruments, their effect on the flow of funds within the economy and the control of risk. The study of three core areas: corporate finance, investments and financial markets, to develop a comprehensive understanding of the discipline and its practical applications.

Human resources: Involves the management of employees and the employment relationship, including the recruitment, selection, remuneration, development and retention of staff. HR managers are often responsible for workforce and succession planning, performance management and training systems, and equity and diversity across organisations.

International business: This major will enable students to consider the implications of business decisions on a global scale as well as for Australian business, while at the same time providing them with studies in the social sciences.

Marketing: Understand how an organisation identifies and anticipates customers’ needs, then organises resources to ensure that those needs are satisfied in a way that builds long-term mutually rewarding relationships between the customer and the organisation.

Public sector management: Delivers practical, topical and relevant management skills for the complex and changing public sector environment. Focusing on formulation, monitoring and reporting progress on programs and policies to deliver services to the community.
