Major studies: Language majors: Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Japanese Linguistics, Korean, Pacific languages, Sanskrit, Thai, Urdu, Vietnamese.

Non-language majors: Chinese studies, Indonesian studies, Japanese studies, Northeast Asian studies, Pacific studies, security studies, South Asian studies, Southeast Asian studies. A wide range of minors is also available.

Honours: Available as an additional year, subject to progress requirements.

Career opportunities: Examples include international careers in government, non-government organisations, education, trade, business, legal and cultural interaction with Asia and the Pacific.

Additional information: The degree must include an Asia-Pacific language major and a non-language contextual major. No prior knowledge of an Asia-Pacific language or previous study of the region is required. If you have prior language experience in the language to be studied you may be required to take a placement test and, if so, you may be exempt from introductory language courses.
