Assumed knowledge: For Mathematics major or minor: Mathematics (not General Mathematics).

Recommended studies: For Visual Arts major or minor: Visual Arts.

Major studies: Business studies, economics, geography, history, literature, mathematics, philosophy, psychology, theological studies, visual arts. Minor studies: Majors listed above and/or Australian studies, computing, communications, drama, education, study of religions.

Practical experience: Students are required to complete 15 days’ service in a community-based organisation.

Honours: Available as an additional year to meritorious students.

Career opportunities: Examples include employment in both government and private sectors, including overseas trade, marketing, publishing, libraries, human resource management or the tourist industry. Completion of a Graduate Diploma in Education may lead to employment in the teaching profession.

The course structure comprises 24 units and a requirement to complete ARTS232 Learning in the Community. This includes two majors OR one major and two minors. All subject combinations are dependent upon timetable and quota availability, and the offerings may vary from year to year.

Students who attain a credit average may apply to do the Master of Social Work at the Strathfield campus.
