Undergraduate course search help

Use the course search to help you find courses that interest you.

Note: a 'keywords search' allows you to enter a combination of search types whereas the other options allow one specific type of search. For details see below.

Using keywords to search courses

A keywords search allows you to enter the course name, UAC course code, institution name, type of course or a combination of these search elements. To refine your search:

  • Choose 'any of these words (including and, of etc.)' to list as many courses as possible - for example, type in 'mathematics teaching' and select 'any' to find every instance of the word 'mathematics' and every instance of the word 'teaching'.
  • Choose 'all of these words' to list courses which include all of the keywords you entered - for example, type in 'mathematics teaching' and select 'all' to find every instance of the two words used together.
  • Choose 'an exact match of these words' to narrow your matches to the exact combination of words that you enter.

For example: if you want to find a course in accounting at the Australian Catholic University, select 'all of these words' and type in: accounting catholic

ATAR cut-off

Read ATAR for information on the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

Enter numeric values in increments of 0.05.

Enter one number to get course details with a ATAR cut-off less than or equal to that number - for example:75.10

Enter two numbers to show all courses within that ATAR range. Make sure the first number is less than the second number and separate the numbers with a space - for example: 55.5 65.95

Enter 'other' to list courses which do not show an ATAR cut-off.

Reasons for no cut-off include:

  • NC - new course
  • N/A - selection criteria other than ATAR is used or the course is not offered to current Year 12 applicants
  • U+C - combination of ATAR and additional selection criteria is used as a basis of selection for entry to these courses
  • N/O - course not offered

The course search results page and the course descriptions show the ATAR cut-offs required for entry to the course for 2009 main admissions.
