The ATAR advice notice
While ATARs are calculated for all ATAR-eligible students, only students who indicate on their HSC entry forms that they wish to be notified of their ATAR receive an ATAR Advice Notice from UAC. These students will receive their written Advice Notices at the same time as they receive their HSC results from the Board of Studies. The ATAR Advice Notice includes:
- the student's ATAR
- a list of the ATAR courses that the student studied and the categorisation of each course
- the number of units of each ATAR course that contributed to the calculation of their ATAR.
There are two cases where an ATAR will not be shown on the ATAR Advice Notice. The first is when a student receives an ATAR between 0.00 and 30.00, in which case the ATAR will be indicated as ‘30 or less'. The second is when the student has not met the requirements for an ATAR, in which case the statement ‘Not Eligible' will appear.
NSW HSC students can access their ATAR from 9am on Thursday 15 December 2011 through this website.
ATAR Advice Notices will be sent to NSW HSC students from Friday 16 December 2011.
