Applying interstate
How to apply for interstate courses
Applications for most undergraduate courses are processed through the tertiary admissions centres in each state.
Why apply interstate?
Choosing to enrol in a university course is an important decision in your life. Australia has 38 publicly-funded universities and four private universities.
Although this might make deciding more difficult, there are advantages for both students and universities. Your options are expanded. Instead of having to choose from only one or two courses in your preferred field, you will have more courses to consider. This means you can pick the ones that best meet your needs and interests.
For universities, having students from interstate allows them to offer diverse and specialised courses in a greater number of areas. Specialised courses which might only attract a small number of home-state students can continue to flourish with increased numbers of interstate students.
