Still time to apply for study in 2012

Applications for undergraduate courses remain open until 2 February 2012 so you still have time to apply. You’ll need to check the undergraduate course search to make sure the courses you are interested in are still open and then apply online.

Changing your preferences

If you’ve already applied, you might have changed your mind about the courses you want to do. You can change your preferences as many times as you like through our Check & Change service – there’s no need to submit another application. Just be sure to submit your changes by midnight on the relevant closing dates – read our Changing Preferences FAQs for more information.

November Round offers

November Round offers will be available on our website from 9am on Thursday 17 November.

Confused about the various offer rounds? Some institutions make offers in the November Round, mainly to non-Year 12 applicants, but remember that the majority of offers are made in the Main Round on 18 January 2012.

ATARs for 2011 HSC students

NSW students studying the HSC will be able to view their ATAR on the UAC website from 9am on Thursday 15 December – ATAR advice notices will arrive in the post from 16 December.

You’ll need your HSC student number and UAC PIN to access your ATAR. Forgotten your UAC PIN? If you’ve already applied through UAC you can retrieve it through Check & Change. Otherwise call us on (02) 9752 0200.

Educational Access Schemes (EAS)

If you’ve experienced long-term educational disadvantage, you may be eligible for EAS. Applications are open until 5 January 2012. If you apply for EAS by Wednesday 30 November, you'll receive your EAS eligibility letter around the same time as the release of ATARs. Visit our EAS webpage for more information.

International

International offers start in December

Institutions will start making offers to international applicants from Wednesday 21 December. Offers are made in a number of runs between December and February for study in semester 1. You still have time to apply for study – applications close on 2 February 2012.

Application tips: You’ll need to make sure that the name you use in your application is the same as the name in your official ID (usually your passport). You’ll need your offer letter to enrol at uni and if the name doesn’t match your ID you may have difficulty enrolling.

New courses available

Remember to check the list of new courses added since the publication of the UAC 2012 International Booklet.

The Careers Advisors Association (CAA) NSW & ACT annual conference is being held on 18–19 November at the Liverpool Catholic Club. The theme this year is The Great Divide – City and Country. UAC will be exhibiting and presenting at the conference on Friday 18th. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones from throughout NSW and ACT.

Anyone with questions about the ATAR can ring the ATAR Enquiry Centre on (02) 8736 5900 from

A percentile table, which provides detailed information about the distribution of scaled marks used in the calculation of the 2011 ATAR, will be available on the UAC website when ATARs are released on
Thursday 15 December 2011.

The Report on Scaling of the 2011 NSW HSC will be available from UAC in early 2012.

The Human Services Stage 6 course, which will be examined for the first time in the 2012 NSW HSC, has been categorised as a Category B course. Remember that no more than 2 units of Category B courses can be included in the ATAR calculation.
