The UAC newsletter keeps you updated on Undergraduate, International and Postgraduate applications. It lets you know about Equity Scholarships, Educational Access Schemes and school careers resources.

Apply for uni in 2011

Applications for uni in 2011 are still open and late fees vary, depending when you apply.

To start researching course options, use UAC's undergraduate course search to find information on over 1 000 courses at 17 institutions.

Last days to change October preferences

Don't forget that Tuesday 26 October 2010 is the closing date to change preferences for October Round applications.

October Round offers

October Round offers will be released at 9am on Thursday 28 October 2010 Sydney local time on the undergraduate website.

Offers in this round are usually made for deferred applicants, special admissions and distance education. To find out more visit our October Round information page.

Equity scholarships closing soon

Final applications for Equity Scholarships close on Tuesday 30 November 2010. Equity Scholarships can help with the costs of going to or staying at uni. For more details, and to apply, visit the Equity Scholarships website.

Bonus points and selection rank

Year 12 students may be eligible to have their selection rank increased through bonus points. Universities can award these points based on academic performance or where students live or go to school. Contact the relevant institution/s to find out more.

Register now for STAT

If you don’t have formal qualifications, the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) can improve your chances of entry to a tertiary course. There are limited tests and places available, so it’s important to book early.

Your UAC PIN

You need your UAC PIN to update your application and check your offer/s. If you are a UAC applicant you can have it emailed to you by clicking ‘lost PIN’ in Check & Change. If your PIN doesn’t work or you’re having trouble retrieving it, call us between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday on (02) 9752 0200.

2010 ATAR results

NSW students studying the 2010 HSC can access their ATAR from 9am on Thursday 16 December 2010 on UAC's website. You'll need your UAC application number or HSC student number and your UAC PIN. Students will receive written advice of their ATAR from Friday 17 December.

Applications open for postgraduate study in 2011

Closing dates

The main closing date for courses starting in February-March 2011 is Friday 29 October 2010. Check the course search for final closing dates. Courses are subject to change, so for the latest information visit the postgraduate website.

Improved course search

The postgraduate course search has been updated with details of many of the over 1 000 courses available at participating institutions.

 

Checking offers

Institutions make their offers for courses on a regular basis. After you apply you can check online to see if you've been made an offer. Remember, you'll need your UAC number and UAC PIN, and you must accept your offer by the date shown to be sure of keeping it.

Apply for international study

Applications for semester 1, 2011 study are still open. Check admission requirements and additional selection criteria before using UAC’s Apply.

International applicants are encouraged to apply by Friday 29 October 2010.

Early closing dates

Some courses have early closing dates that are set by institutions. Check the course descriptions for more information.

In September 2010 the UAC website was visited almost 450 000 times, by people from over 170 countries and territories.

A wide range of resources is available on Schoolink for careers advisers wanting to keep their students up-to-date with tertiary education.

Did you know?

UAC has received over 71 000 undergraduate domestic applications so far this year. 22 000 of these were submitted in the final week of on-time closing in September.
