  • What do I need before I apply for a secondary teaching course?

    You should research the requirements for the courses you wish to apply for. Use the course search to find secondary teaching courses available through UAC.

  • How do I apply for secondary teaching courses?

    All UAC postgraduate applicants apply using Apply-By-Web. If you are applying for a secondary teaching course you will be asked an additional question about the areas you want to teach.

  • What teaching areas does each institution offer?

    Different institutions offer different teaching areas. Some offer the teaching areas as both 1st area and 2nd area, while others may only offer it as one area or the other. Refer to the Teaching areas offered by institution table for details.

  • What about languages?

  • Are there special requirements for students in secondary teaching courses?

    Yes, you will need to undergo a Working with children check.

  • What are the requirements to become a secondary teacher in NSW schools?

    There are English and mathematics requirements for teachers in NSW. Also check the NSW Institute of Teachers website for details of further requirements for teachers in NSW.
