  • What are the admission requirements for postgraduate courses?

    Read check your requirements for more information.

    Some courses have special requirements. The course descriptions available through the course search will give you an indication of any special requirements for the course.

  • How do I apply for postgraduate courses through UAC?

    You apply to courses listed in the course search through Apply. Apply will instruct you throughout the application.

  • What is an intake?

    An intake refers to a postgraduate admission period. There are six intakes in the year.

    For 2012 admissions the intake dates are:

    • Intake 1: Studies start December 2011 – January 2012
    • Intake 2: Studies start February – March 2012
    • Intake 3: Studies start April 2012
    • Intake 4: Studies start May – June 2012
    • Intake 5: Studies start July – August 2012
    • Intake 6: Studies start September – November 2012

  • How do I find out what my UAC application number is?

    When you use Apply you'll be given a UAC application number early in your application. Keep a record of this number.

  • What is my UAC PIN?

    Your UAC PIN is the first four digits of your date of birth – the day and month only. For example if your birthday is 3 October, your UAC PIN is 0310.

  • How do I pay for my application?

    The processing charge is $56.

    The processing charge is not refundable under any circumstances and you must keep a record of the date and time of your payment.

    You have a number of options to pay for the processing charge:

    • credit/debit card (MasterCard and Visa)
    • PayPal – if you choose to use PayPal to pay your processing charge, allow at least 10 days before you apply to set up your account
    • BPAY (in Australia only)
    • over the counter at Australia Post outlets (in Australia only).
    Note: If you don't pay the processing charge your application won't be processed and you won't be made an offer.

  • How many applications can I submit?

    You can only submit one application to UAC Postgraduate per year.

    If you've applied and change your mind about the courses you want to study, you can change your courses through Check & Change.

    If you apply and have additional qualifications to be included with your application, go to Check & Change and select Add qualifications.

  • Do I need to submit documents with my application?

    After you’ve submitted your application, you’ll get a document cover sheet called Institution Documents which lists PDF documents you need to upload for your course preferences. To learn more about how to upload documents through Check & Change read document upload FAQs.

    If you need to provide printed documents, you'll receive a document cover sheet with your Confirmation of Application. Print the document cover sheet, attach your correctly verified documents and send these to UAC. Read providing printed documents to UAC FAQs for more information.

  • I would like to have employment experience considered as part of my application

    Your employment experience may be a necessary part of your application. Check the course descriptions available through the course search and institution entries for details of any work experience requirements.

  • How do I arrange to have copies of my documents verified?

  • I have to arrange English language translations of my documents. Who is authorised to translate them for me?

  • Do I have to demonstrate English language proficiency?

    If your qualifications are from countries where English is not the standard language of instruction, you must provide evidence of English language proficiency. Refer to the English language proficiency table for information about tests and qualifications accepted as proof of proficiency in English.

    Note: All institutions require applicants completing the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) to take the Academic version.

  • I'm an international applicant. Can I apply through UAC for postgraduate study?

    All international applicants must apply directly to the institutions, not through UAC.

  • How do I add study I did not include in my application?

    After you've applied through UAC, you can use Check & Change to check, change and add information related to your UAC application. Read the Check & Change FAQs for more information.

  • How do I cancel my application?

    To cancel your application you must write to UAC, including your UAC application number.
