University of Technology, Sydney
The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) provides higher education to enhance professional practice, to serve the community at large, and to enable students to realise their personal and career potential.
UTS has built a strong reputation as a progressive, egalitarian university with a distinctive focus on practice-oriented teaching, learning and research. UTS was listed in the top (A1) band of all four discipline groups in the Australian Government’s Learning and Teaching Performance Fund 2008, making UTS one of the top rated universities in Australia. This was based on student satisfaction, student outcomes and student success.
As a leading practice-based university, UTS courses are academically rigorous as well as practical. Our course content is regularly checked by industry advisory committees to make sure that what you are learning is up to date and relevant. Many academic staff are internationally recognised in their fields and are actively involved with their industries and professions.
We understand the reality of balancing work, family commitments and study. Many of our courses can be studied part-time or fast-tracked by doing extra subjects in summer. Comprehensive professional services are provided to support every aspect of your student life, including housing, health, special needs, careers, financial assistance, learning skills, counselling and IT support.
Another of our key strengths is the social and cultural diversity of our students, staff and partners in the professions and the community as well as our strong international profile. This diversity has created a vibrant and rich learning environment that prepares graduates for the borderless workplace of today. The largest campus is on the edge of Sydney's CBD, making it easy to get to by public transport and close to all the attractions of Chinatown, Darling Harbour and the city. Our other campus is the Kuring-gai campus in Lindfield on Sydney's North Shore.
