How to apply

All applicants must apply online using Apply-By-Web.

Apply-By-Web will instruct you throughout the application, but read the Apply-By-Web FAQs before you apply.

It is your responsibility to make sure the course/s for which you wish to apply are available through UAC, before beginning your application. You must consult both the course search and the Updates page for new and cancelled courses, and any other updates.

Remember that the application processing charge is not refundable under any circumstances.

Applying for Intake 4-6 courses
If you applied for admission in Intakes 1-3 (commencing December 2007 – April 2008), you DO NOT need to re-apply for Intakes 4-6 (commencing May-November 2008). Your application will remain valid, so in order to be considered for Intake 4-6 courses all you need to do is change your courses.

If you have additional qualifications to be included with your application, write to UAC quoting your UAC application number.

You must submit only one postgraduate application to UAC per year.

When can I access Apply-By-Web?

Apply-By-Web is not available between 12 midnight and 7.30am.

Once you have begun the application process you will be given your UAC application number and your four-digit UAC PIN. Record these as you will need them to access your offer details, and check or change these courses or contact details. Read below for information about your UAC PIN.

What is my UAC PIN?

Your UAC Personal Identification Number (PIN) is the first four digits of your date of birth - for example if your birthday is 3 October, your UAC PIN is 0310.

If your PIN doesn't work, check the above information to ensure you are trying to use the correct number. If you are using the correct number and are still experiencing difficulties, call UAC on (02) 9752 0200.

Can I change my UAC PIN?

Yes. All applicants can change their UAC PIN using Online applicant services.

Note that your UAC PIN must be four numeric characters. ^top

Application closing dates

Institutions have different application closing dates and there are different closing dates within each Intake and for each course. Check the course search for information on closing dates for each institution, Intake and course.

Don't wait until closing dates to apply. UAC does not make allowances or take responsibility for inaccessible internet lines.

Note that you must apply by the Main closing date listed to be guaranteed consideration of your application.

Some institutions will consider late applications only if places are still available. Refer to the course search and check the course updates.
