Australian National University
It may be possible to postpone your commencement of a graduate program after you have received an offer. Deferment requests will be handled directly by ANU, not UAC. Apply in writing to the relevant College/Department as soon as possible, not to the ANU Admissions Office.

It may be possible to postpone your commencement of a postgraduate program after you have received an offer. Deferment requests will be handled directly by La Trobe University, not UAC. Apply in writing to the relevant faculty/department as soon as possible.
^topMacquarie University
Deferments are not permitted in postgraduate coursework programs. You must re-apply at the appropriate time and be considered along with all other new applicants.
If you applied for Intake 2 (February) but wish to commence in Intake 5 (August) you can submit a change of preference in April/May, via UAC’s website using Intake 5 course codes.

Deferments are not permitted in postgraduate coursework programs.
^topUniversity of Canberra
Deferment of postgraduate offers is not normally available. If you have exceptional circumstances and wish to have your request for a deferral considered contact the Admissions Office on 1300 301 727.

Deferment may be available on application to UNE.
^topUniversity of Newcastle
Deferment of postgraduate offers may be available for up to one year. Contact the University for further information.
^topUniversity of Sydney
It may be possible to postpone your commencement of a postgraduate program after you have received an offer. Deferment requests will be handled directly by the University of Sydney, not UAC. Apply in writing to the relevant faculty/department as soon as possible.
^topUniversity of Technology, Sydney
Deferment in postgraduate coursework programs at UTS is not permitted as an automatic entitlement. However, if you receive an offer in Intake 2, 2009 (Autumn Semester) and you are unable to accept the offer for that semester, you can carry forward your application for consideration in a later semester in 2009 by submitting a change of preference through UAC. (You must submit a new application if you want to be considered in 2010.)

Deferment of enrolment in post-initial and postgraduate coursework courses at UWS is permitted for one year only (six months only for mid-year admissions). There is an application fee.
