Admission requirements are the minimum qualifications you need before you can be selected for admission to a course of study.
When assessing your application UNE may take any or all of your qualifications or attempts at study into account.
Limited UAI
The University accepts the NSW Limited UAI for admission purposes - read UAI.
Additional selection criteria
In addition to achieving the standard of performance required for admission, for certain courses you must also satisfy additional selection criteria. These criteria include portfolio, interview, audition, questionnaire or test and are taken into account either instead of, or in conjunction with, your UAI or equivalent.

If you are undertaking your Year 12 studies offshore and are applying to a course that has additional selection criteria that you will find difficult to meet, contact International Marketing and Pathways.
School/College Recommendation Admission Scheme (SRAS)
UNE has a 30-year track record in selecting students who show clear potential to study at university. Regardless of your UAI, you can be selected through SRAS if your school/college or TAFE highly recommends your potential to do well in your tertiary studies.
Your application is assessed based on the strength of the recommendation and supporting information provided by your school, TAFE or college. Your UAI is not taken into consideration under this scheme, but you must still be eligible for a UAI or Limited UAI to apply through SRAS.
To convert an SRAS offer into a firm place, you must include the UNE course/s of your choice on your UAC International application.
SRAS is for on-campus study; students wishing to study by distance education must achieve the appropriate UAI or equivalent for entry into the course and apply direct to UNE.

Special consideration for elite athletes or performers
If you are an elite athlete or performer, whose training and competitive commitments have affected your study preparation, you may be eligible for special consideration. Students in this category must submit a letter requesting special consideration directly to the Admissions Officer at UNE. Include your UAC application number, details and documentation of the circumstances
for consideration. This must be received by 30 November 2008.
Performance in Year 12 subjects
UNE will award bonus points to a limited number of students who have achieved excellent results in Year 12 subjects in relevant areas of study.
If you wish to be considered, submit a letter stating your case to the Admissions Officer at UNE, include your UAC application number and full name. Given the tight timeframe, you must email your letter to UNE to international@une.edu.au and include the subject title 'Consideration for Year 12 bonus'.

Before you are granted a student visa, the Australian Government must be satisfied that you have appropriate accommodation, support and general welfare arrangements in place for the period that you will be under 18 years of age while in Australia.
International students under the age of 18 are ineligible for admission to UNE unless they are being cared for in Australia by a parent or suitable nominated relative.

The University of New England has a fixed course fee policy for international students. This means that you will be charged the tuition fees applicable in the year of your initial enrolment for the duration of your course. Other charges, such as Overseas Student Health Cover, accommodation fees and facilities fees may vary annually.
International students who accept offers to study at UNE are expected to pay the initial semester fee for their course plus the appropriate Overseas Student Health Cover charge prior to being issued with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

If you have arranged or intend to arrange financial sponsorship by another organisation for the payment of your fees you must contact International Marketing and Pathways at international@une.edu.au to obtain a Student Sponsorship Form. This form must be completed by you and your sponsor and returned to International Marketing and Pathways before commencing your course.

Medibank Private is UNE's preferred OSHC provider for all newly commencing international students. Commencing students using another OSHC provider must make payment arrangements directly with the provider as UNE only accepts payment for Medibank Private.
