About UAC – UAC and what we do

The Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT) Pty Ltd (UAC) is the central office that receives and processes applications for admission to most domestic undergraduate degree, advanced diploma and diploma courses at the participating institutions.

UAC also administers centralised application and assessment processes for educational access schemes, postgraduate coursework courses, and Equity Scholarships.

UAC also processes applications for a specific group of international students through UAC International.

By applying for admission to tertiary courses through UAC, your task is made much easier than if you were required to apply separately to each institution.

The institutions, not UAC, decide who will receive offers to courses based on the courses applicants choose in their UAC applications. UAC, however, co-ordinates the process, and notifies applicants on behalf of the institutions.

UAC also notifies current NSW HSC students of their Universities Admissions Index (UAI).
