Recommended studies: For Law: English Advanced and Legal Studies. For other area of study: Refer to the relevant single degree.

Additional selection criteria: For 336111: All applicants – compulsory audition with interview and music theory proficiency test. The music theory proficiency test (approximately one hour) assesses written theory and aural perception. The approximate level of theory proficiency is AMEB grade 3.

Documentary evidence (certified copies, not originals) of previous training, reports, reviews and references should be provided at the interview, not posted to the University.

Applicants living in remote areas and those unable to attend the audition/ interview/theory test may apply to send a video to satisfy the audition requirements for performance. Remote composition or music production applicants should send a portfolio of pieces together with a curriculum vitae. The music theory proficiency test must be conducted by an AMEB-qualified music teacher. Call (02) 6620 3831 to check eligibility for remote audition.

Honours: Awarded on the basis of superior performance throughout the course plus completion of two legal research units.

Career opportunities: Examples include solicitors or barristers of the Supreme Court of NSW (following completion of PLT). While Law graduates find employment in traditional fields, many work in government, business, welfare and areas related to their first or other degree or in other areas where their Law degree and legal knowledge is acknowledged and highly valuable in their work. Additional information: Students undertaking double degrees with Law are candidates for both degrees and are able to complete the two degrees with five years’ full-time study rather than the six normally required. With the exception of 336113, the degrees are not available via distance education, but it is possible to enrol in a heavier workload during the earlier years of the course so the final year may be completed outside the Lismore area.
