Who can apply through UAC International?
You're eligible to apply for courses listed in the course search if you're NOT an Australian citizen (including dual citizens), or a New Zealand citizen (including dual citizens), or a permanent resident of Australia.
For 2012 semester 1 admissions, international students with one of the following qualifications can apply through UAC International:
- an Australian Year 12 in or outside Australia in 2011
- an International Baccalaureate in 2011 or May 2012
- a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 in 2011.
Prospective permanent residents
If your citizenship status changes to permanent resident before the date your course starts, you’re eligible to be considered for a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) course.
If you’re granted permanent resident status after you’ve applied to UAC International, you must write to the Senior Operations Officer at UAC to explain your change in status and provide a verified copy of your permanent residency visa immediately. You will need to re-apply as a domestic undergraduate applicant to be considered for a CSP course.
If you’re granted permanent resident status after you’ve received an unconditional offer and before the date your course starts, contact the institution immediately to explain your change in status.
Note that the 'date your course starts' may vary across institutions. For more information, check the Interpretation of 'date your course starts' table.
If you’re granted permanent resident status after your course starts, you must let your institution know immediately.
Who CAN'T apply through UAC International?
International students not in one of the categories listed above apply directly to the institutions, not through UAC.
If you must apply directly, contact the institutions to which you intend to apply without delay. Each institution has its own application procedures and admission requirements.
