Offers
Conditional offers
Approximately 48 hours after you have submitted your application to UAC, you will receive a conditional offer letter, which you may use as part of your pre-visa assessment if required. Your conditional offer letter lists all the courses for which you have applied. You can view this letter through Online applicant services.
This letter is a conditional offer of admission only. You need to receive an unconditional offer to be eligible to enrol in a course of study. You need to meet the minimum admission requirements of the institution and compete against other applicants to receive an unconditional offer.
^topUnconditional offers
To receive an unconditional offer for a course you must have the course in your list of courses when offers are made, have a UAI (or equivalent) equal to or higher than the final cut-off for admission to the course, and have met any other course entry requirements.
UAC will send unconditional offer letters to successful applicants on behalf of institutions starting mid-December 2008, after your final Year 12 results have been received directly from the relevant Australian body or the New Zealand Qualifications Authority or the International Baccalaureate Organisation. You do not have to provide a copy of your results to UAC as we obtain them directly.
^topOffer runs
Institutions make their offers progressively in a number of offer runs from mid-December 2008 through to February 2009 for Semester 1 courses (starting in February 2009). Semester 2 offers will be available from June 2009. More information about offer runs and dates for Semester 2 will be available on this website later in 2008.
Who decides if I receive an offer?
Institutions decide which applicants receive unconditional offers. UAC does not select applicants.
How many offers can I receive?
You may receive only one offer per institution in each offer run.
How will I know if I've received any offers?
You can find out if you have received an offer:
1. By checking on this website - offers will be available to view as soon as institutions start making their offers and you can also view and download your unconditional offer letters through Online applicant services. If you use an agent your agent will also be able to view your offer letters.
2. By mail - offers are posted by UAC on behalf of the institutions or directly by the institution. If your application is successful, you will receive offer information from the institution making the offer that explains acceptance and enrolment dates and procedures.
Unsuccessful letter
If you are not made an offer at all for admission in Semester 1, towards the end of February you will receive a letter from UAC advising you that your application was unsuccessful.
Offers to courses that you did not apply for
If you do not meet an institution's requirements for entry to an undergraduate degree course, some institutions may make you an offer to a pathway course, such as an international foundation program.
- Institutions that may process these offers through UAC are:
- Griffith University
- Macquarie University
- University of Canberra
- University of Newcastle
- University of Western Sydney.
More information about these courses is available from the relevant institution.
