^topWhat are the admission requirements for university study?
To be offered a place in a course you must:
1. be eligible to be considered and
2. be selected in competition with other eligible applicants.
- To be eligible to be considered you must:
- meet the admission requirements of the institution offering the course/s. Each institution sets its own admission requirements so you are advised to read each institution's entry.
- meet the entrance requirements of the course/s. Some courses have course prerequisites or additional selection criteria prescribed by the institutions. Courses with additional selection criteria usually have early closing dates – check the course descriptions for further details.
- To be selected you must:
- compete against other eligible applicants. Being eligible to be considered for a course does not guarantee you a place in the course. For further information read The selection process.
How do I add study I did not include in my application?
You can tell us about additional study and qualifications using Online applicant services on UAC's website - select "Add/modify study/qualifications".
^topI am currently studying but did not include this in my application - what should I do?
You need to tell us about it - go to Online applicant services on UAC's website and select "Add/modify study/qualifications".
^topHow do the institutions select applicants for their courses?
^topHow can I transfer to another course and/or institution in 2009?
If you have partially completed a tertiary course and wish to transfer to another course at a different institution, you must apply through UAC. If you want to transfer to another course at the same institution, check with your institution to see if you need to apply though UAC. In either case you may be eligible for advanced standing - check with the institution/s offering the course/s for which you have applied.
Many students enrol in a course with a view to transferring into another course after completing a year of study. A typical example includes completing one year of a general degree (such as Arts) and then seeking to transfer to a more specialised program (such as Arts/Law)
Transfers such as these are possible but very competitive, usually requiring you to achieve excellent results in your first year of university.
Each institution has its own requirements for transfer and you should check with the relevant institution for more information before you enrol.
UAC ranks your qualifications on behalf of participating institutions but the institution you wish to transfer to decides how your qualifications will be used to transfer to their institution.
^topHow do I apply?
You apply to courses listed in the course search through Apply-By-Web. Read About applying for more information.
