Assumed knowledge: Mathematics.

Additional selection criteria: Students who achieve a UAI between 75.00 and 87.95 will be considered for admission under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS)*, which will include the UAI and a review of performance in relevant HSC (or equivalent) subjects.

Students who anticipate achieving a UAI between 70.00 and 87.95 can maximise their opportunities for admission by submitting a FEAS application directly to the Faculty for an interview. Interviews will be held in late September 2008 at UNSW in Sydney. The application form can be accessed from 1 August 2008 at www.eng.unsw.edu.au/feas and should be submitted by 12 September 2008.

Additional information: This diploma program has been designed by the Faculties of Engineering and Science as a flexible pathway for students who have a range of gaps in their assumed knowledge and currently do not meet the entry requirements for B Engineering or B Science at UNSW.

Depending on their background students may also be eligible to complete selected electives from the B Engineering programs. Students who achieve a credit average in the DipSET will be permitted to transfer to B Engineering and B Science programs and will be eligible for advanced standing for courses successfully completed that form part of the Bachelor program. Those enrolling in the Dip SET with the intention of seeking admission to a Bachelor of Engineering program must undertake the Mathematics and Physics sequences.

To be considered for admission applicants must have a minimum UAI or equivalent of 70.00 and will be considered for entry to the Dip SET under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS) for potential transfer to programs in the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Science.
