Assumed knowledge: Mathematics and Physics.

Major studies: Nuclear medicine physics/instrumentation, nuclear medicine techniques, radiation biology and protection, radiopharmacy.

Clinical placements: 24 weeks’ clinical practice in hospitals and private nuclear medicine practices in country and metropolitan areas and overseas.

Professional recognition: Graduates must work in an accredited nuclear medicine practice for one year to gain accreditation from the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM).

Career opportunities: Examples include positions in public hospitals or private nuclear medicine practices.
